Island Rambler was built by Martin Yachts in Vancouver, who are renowned for their offshore construction with Down East lines.
The hull is a lobster boat from New England. Martin Yachts acquired one hull and the west coast rights to the design from Glenn Holland.
The design combines the seafaring capabilities of a pilot vessel and the economy of a trawler, finished with a custom yacht interior.
Power is a direct drive V8 Mercruiser 260 with 3108 hours. This boat has a very impressive maintenance log. 2021 survey and mechanical on file. All cylinders 165-170 psi. This boat runs like a trawler at low rpms.
Modern updates include: 2023: new 361 liter fuel tank, upgraded main bilge design and replaced secondary bilge pump. 2022: new house AGM batteries, added Victron SmartShunt, Balmar alternator regulator, and BlueSeaSystems battery combiner, also added bluetooth to Victron MPPT controller for 100W solar panel (smartshunt and solar performance can be viewed using Victron’s phone app), new Garmin VHF215 radio, AMEC AIS transceiver, new Morad antennas for both. Out of the water for bottom paint April 2022.
Features a large hard top used for full-sized sea kayaks or tender storage. Plus a teak back deck with a low profile and new Ultradeck flooring on the transom.
The nicely finished Interior has a propane stovetop and oven, marine head, teak and holly flooring and more…Si Tex autopilot is connected to the Raymarine C80 plotter and radar. Nicely suited for PNW cruising.
