The Beneteau First 305 offers it all. Designed by Jean Berret, this French built boat combines sporty sailing with cruising accommodations found in sailboats much larger than her 30 ft LOA. Roman is the “Tall Rig, Deep Keel” version of this popular Beneteau model and is ready to go for the season with a long list of recent upgrades. New running rigging and all new canvas was installed in 2015; the keel bolts and ports were replaced in 2016, and a Dickenson heater was installed to keep the cabin cozy for year-round cruising. The thru-hulls were replaced in 2017 accompanying a new PSS Shaft Seal and new raw water cooling pump for the 18 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine. Accommodations below provide 6’2” standing headroom and sleeping berths for 6 spread between a separate v-berth cabin, 2 single berths in the main salon and a separate aft cabin with a large double berth and lots of opening ports for natural light and ventilation. The galley is well laid out offering a two burner stove with oven, double stainless sinks with pressurized water, and a large ice box. A separate head with a new electric Dometic toilet is located aft on the starboard side. Topsides are beautifully designed with wide open unobstructed decks. The cockpit is extremely generous in size and tastefully finished with teak. Roman offers a Raymarine ST40 instrument package complete with Standard Horizon GPS 150C chartplotter.
