Wakeboard boat priced to move!
The 2005 Tigé 22V, is a pretty serious wake boat for its era.
The the dark-blue/white gelcoat still has good gloss, the graphics look sharp, it has the factory-style wake tower with board racks and bimini, and the polished teak swim platform really stands out.
The 22V was designed as a crossover between a dedicated wakeboard boat and a comfortable family runabout. At roughly 22 long with a 8’6” beam, it has a surprisingly deep and spacious cockpit for a 22-footer. Capacity up to 10 people and 38 gallons of fuel.
Power is GM Vortec engine with 340hp and just over 300 hours. Fresh water boat only!
A big selling feature is Tigé’s ConvexV hull combined with TAPS2 (Tigé Adjustable Performance System). Instead of depending entirely on huge amounts of ballast, Tigé designed the hull to naturally produce a substantial wake. TAPS2 then allows the driver to alter the running attitude and tune the wake from the helm. Period testing specifically praised the 22V for producing a useful recreational wake without ballast while being capable of much larger wakes when weighted.
The interesting thing about the 22V today is that it comes from the period before wake boats became enormous, extraordinarily complicated and extremely expensive. You still get the fundamentals:
- V-drive layout with wraparound seating
- ConvexV wake-oriented hull
- TAPS2 adjustable wake system
- Wakeboard tower and board racks
- Large open bow
- Huge aft storage compartments
- Substantial swim platform
- V8 inboard power
- Plenty of cockpit storage
- Tandem-axle trailer included
It’s also far more versatile than simply calling it a “wakeboard boat.” You can cruise, tube, ski, wakeboard and surf behind it. It won’t create the giant surf wave of a modern $200,000+ wake boat without additional weighting/setup, but for someone wanting an affordable V-drive watersports boat, the 22V has a lot going for it.
And visually, that teak/wood platform is a huge improvement over a tired 20-year-old fiberglass platform, it gives the stern some character.
