Once in awhile we get a listing where we stand in awe of the exceptional skill and love the owner has for their vessel. There are simply no words to describe “Old School II” but let’s give it a shot:
Built in 1957, the current owner purchased this classic and placed her in his custom built workshop to start the restoration of a lifetime. Putting his years of marine craftmanship to work, every aspect of this vessel has been rebuilt or restored. While keeping the beauty of the Chris Craft heritage a priority, the boat was repowered with new twin DIESEL engines (currently at 40hrs) in addition to the entire hull being cold-molded with 3 layers (!) of meranti strips, thickened epoxy and fiberglass, followed by another finishing layer of fiberglass cloth, epoxy and bottom paint. New rudders, new custom shafts and props, new fuel tanks and dripless shaft seals were all part of the refurbishment.
Walking through the vessel your eye falls on the gold inlay on the beautifully varnished table, the fact that the v-berth area is finished with the wood from one tree so the grain aligns perfectly, the quartz counter-top in the galley and head, the new upholstery. No expense or hours of labour were spared and the results of this restoration makes this a one of a kind vessel you would be honoured to call your own.
